Electric Scooter Maintenance and Care

It is advisable to perform maintenance and upkeep on the electric scooter at regular intervals.

It goes without saying that electric scooters, like other vehicles, require regular maintenance. With small maintenance steps, you can prevent more significant problems.

Cleaning an Electric Scooter

Before storing, it is advisable to thoroughly clean the electric scooter. Use a soft brush or cloth to remove dirt, dust, and moisture. Proper cleaning helps prevent corrosion and keeps the outer surface of the device in good condition. It is a small effort to clean the dirt right after riding rather than waiting for multiple layers to accumulate.

Electric Scooter Brake Pads and Maintenance

Electric scooter brake pads are located in the brake caliper on the brake disc. Typically, the caliper is secured with two hex screws. If the brake pads wear out, metallic residues start rubbing against the brake disc. This rapidly wears out the brake disc and usually requires replacement unless the brake pads are renewed.

If there is an extra noise during braking, it is likely due to the brake pads wearing out, in which case it is advisable to check the condition of the brake pads. Brake pads are usually affordable, in the range of about €10, so maintaining them is not a significant financial process.

In the maintenance corner, there are also visual instructions for changing brake pads, and they can be found here. If you are unable to change the brake pads yourself, contact our service points here.

Electric scooter tire pressures

It's advisable to keep an eye on tire pressures because too low pressures can wear out the outer tire and inner tube. The majority of punctured tires result from incorrect tire pressures. Incorrect tire pressures also affect the electric scooter's range. You can find the tire pressures for your electric scooter here.

Checking screws and nuts.

Check the screws and fasteners of the electric scooter.

Make sure they are securely fastened, and tighten them if necessary.

This helps prevent damage to the parts.

A good tip is also to loosen the screws, apply threadlocker to prevent them from loosening due to vibration, for example.
